HOW DOES IT WORK?

Via a communication portal

with minimal  SCC staff time and no budget impact

Steps Involved

1:  A Need for Goods or Services Arises

Needs are Posted on the Portal
Ministries and approved charities describe current client and organizational needs in a structured way that allows potential providers to search by types of resources they may have to offer, e.g. clothing, appliances, mentors, office supplies, food servers,  transportation, etc.

2.  Hearts are stirred to Help

Sunrise is on the alert to meet needs
People at Sunrise eagerly take the initiative to  bless others by checking the portal regularly or by subscribing to emails as new needs  are posted by  organizations they choose to engage with.  When they see an opportunity to help out, they make a commitment to help.  Both parties receive contact information in case of a future change in plans or questions arise.  The portal sends reminders of outstanding commitments for needs not yet completed.

3. The Need is Met

Commitments to meet needs get completed
People are asked to confirm when the need has been completed.  They have an opportunity to share any  'God moments' encountered as a result of their engagement with service opportunities. by uploading images, or  writing a note of encouragement to the ministry they served.

In the background, the portal application keeps track of the ministries assisted by the Sunrise family and service logs may be accessed by staff/church volunteers.

4.  Blessing Abounds
God is Glorified

Beneficiaries, Ministry Leaders, Givers all blessed
By  regularly and conscientiously  engaging with the portal, people with  hearts to serve others can find a variety of ways to put their faith into action.   By sharing their time and talents, they  'show up for others' and provide benefits for individuals and families  struggling with daily life, assist the charities who minister to them, and distribute a share of Kingdom justice, kindness and mercy  within our community.
